{Events} Fat-Positive Provider Discussion Circle with Dalia Kinsey, October 12

Our rescheduled-due-to-hurricane provider discussion with Dalia Kinsey is on Saturday, October 12 at 3 pm Eastern/2 pm Central/1 pm Mountain/12 pm Pacific.

I’m also trying something new with this event! This discussion is open to non-subscribers to pay a one-time fee and join (though, of course, subscribing gives access to ALL events and is a better deal).

We’re having a pretty special event in the Body Liberation Blanket Fort. Dalia Kinsey will be leading a discussion circle on Saturday for healthcare providers to:

» Explore weight neutrality and healthcare

» Find and question their biases around body size

» Discuss how body neutrality, fatphobia, and the BIPOC experience intersect in health care

» Share and explore their body stories

Our experiences with our own bodies are reflected in the way we interact with patients and clients, so show up ready to do some emotional work in journaling exercises and discussions.

This event is limited to those who are healthcare providers and those who use Health at Every Size® principles professionally, to allow providers to be vulnerable and prevent well-meaning but insensitive comments from harming community members.

(We’re using an expansive definition of providers and professionals — therapists, coaches, and anyone who uses these principles in their work are welcome to attend.)
