Creator Month: Sculptor and Artist Chrissy Brown
“Fat visibility leads to fat joy, and fat pride, and everyone deserves to be joyful and proud of who they are β especially those who are systematically marginalised because their bodies donβt fit some ephemeral, garbage ideal. My art, I hope, allows the people who relate to it to feel valid, seen, and heard.” Β» Chrissy Brown
Today’s interview is with @zaftig.art.
Here’s how she describes herself:
Chrissy Brown is an artist who works primarily in 3D, and as a fat, disabled, queer, femme she wants to make sure she and others like her feel welcomed to take up space in the world. Her subject is fat liberation and body positivity, and sheβs trying to strip away all βperformanceβ we, as fat people, are expected to do to fit in to mainstream society.

Balloon Babe Bookmark
Sculptor Chrissy Brown isn’t just talented at sculpting; she’s an illustrator, too. These balloon body bookmarks are a lovely reminder that round bodies are valuable. Each laminated bookmark measures 2″ x 3.5″, is hand-edged with colorful washi tape and comes with a pretty floss accent tied on. Colors vary; the packing unicorns will pick out a beautiful one for you.
