The Origins of the Feelings Workshop is on January 20

I hope you had a lovely second half of December. I spent mine making big plans for 2024, hanging out on Zoom/the phone with long-distance friends and family, and taking a few real, true days off.

One of the things that’s important to me for the year we’ve just begun is holding more events and workshops. I’ll be announcing the new Blanket Fort schedule next week, and right now I’m excited to announce my first workshop in over a year!

On Saturday, January 20 at 4 pm Pacific time (PST), I’m holding a workshop called The Origins of the Feelings, where we explore the surprising truth about body image and beauty, and what we can do about it.

We’ll cover:

Β» Is body image something we’re personally responsible for?
Β» Why do we consider beauty, beautiful?
Β» When we say β€œbeautiful,” what do we really mean?
Β» How do 600 years of history affect how we feel about our bodies today?
Β» What are the rewards and consequences of beauty?
Β» What can we do about all of this?

A recording will be sent out to everyone who signs up, so register even if you can’t make it and watch later at your convenience.

The workshop cost is $29; Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC); queer folks; disabled and neurodivergent folks; and people with hip measurements over 50β€³ can take $10 off with code ORIGINEQUITY.
